Due to the differences in our products, there are different return policies associated with each one. The policy for each product line is listed below.
Bath Lifts & Walk-In-Bathtubs
Bath Lifts and Walk-In Bathtubs are non-returnable because of the sanitation issues involved. No exceptions.
Cancellations:
If your walk-in-tub has not been shipped, you can cancel for a fee of 10% (ten percent).
Dumbwaiters
Dumbwaiters are custom made for each order and are non returnable. No exceptions.
Cancellations:
If your dumbwaiter has not been shipped, you can cancel for a fee of 10% (ten percent).
Electric Scooters
Canceled scooter orders are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. If the mobility scooters has left the warehouse and you cancel, or if you choose to return the scooter within 10 days of receipt, you will be subject to a 15% restocking fee and a freight charge of $150 or actual freight costs if the item was express shipped. No scooter returns will be accepted after 10 days from the date of delivery.
Replacement Parts and Warehouse Items:
No returns are accepted on these items. No exceptions.
Elevators
Elevators are custom-built pieces of equipment and may be returned within 5 business days of receipt to be eligible for a partial refund. The elevator must be returned in its original packaging. The customer is responsible for all shipping responsibilities, and damages incurred. $9,000 will be retained to cover costs and labor.
Please call us to obtain a Return Authorization form prior to shipping the unit back. The Return Authorization will provide exact instructions on the return process.
Replacement Parts and Warehouse Items:

Lift Chairs
To return a lift chair give us a call. A return authorization form will be sent to you. Return the completed form and we will issue you an RA number and advise you on the best way to ship the product. Specific return policies are below:
All lift chairs are Drop Shipped directly from the manufacturer. The above return policy reflects the actual costs charged by the manufacturers for the returned product.

Stair Lifts
Stair Lifts are semi-custom-made products as the track is cut to the length of your staircase. The track can often be reused however there are several hours of labor expenses involved in the preparation of a lift for the application. In addition, shipping of the product is expensive. The following is the return policy on New, Factory Reconditioned, and Used AmeriGlide Stair Lifts. Purchase of our stair lift means you understand and accept the return terms and conditions below. You may cancel your order prior to shipment and obtain a full refund of your purchase price unless your track has been cut then there is a $200 fee for track preparation and boxing.
AmeriGlide stair lifts may be returned within 5 business days of receipt for a refund less the following:

Refused Shipment Policy:
If a stair lift shipment is refused by the customer at the delivery address, the customer will be responsible for a minimum $700 fee to cover prep, handling, track, and freight charges.
Wheelchair Lifts and Scooter Lifts for Vehicles
If you are not happy with your lift for any reason and it has not been installed, simply return it within 10 days of receipt. Freight charges plus a 15% restocking fee apply to all wheelchair lift returns. Vehicle lifts that have been installed on any vehicle cannot be returned.
Call us for a return authorization number between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday. We will send you a return request form for you to sign and return. A return authorization number will then be issued. The Return Authorization number must be on the outside of the box.
Returned lifts must be in new condition, with original packaging, instructions, and warranty material. Again, vehicle lifts that have been installed cannot be returned.
Refunds:
Your refund will be processed after the item has been inspected. We will credit the original credit card. If you paid by check, a refund check will be mailed to you.
Cancellations:
If the lift has not shipped, you can cancel for a fee of $50.00.
Vertical Platform Lifts
Vertical platform lifts are custom-made for each order and are non-returnable. No exceptions.
Cancellations:
If your vertical lift has not been shipped, you can cancel for a fee of 25% (twenty-five percent).
Pool Lifts
Pool lifts are non-returnable unless in original, unopened packaging. You will be charged a 15% restocking fee plus freight both ways.
Cancellations:
If the lift has not shipped, you can cancel for a fee of $50.00.
AmeriGlide stair lifts are designed for homeowner installation. It normally takes 1-3 hours for your first stair lift installation.
New AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 2-year parts warranty and a 5-year warranty on the drive train. Factory Reconditioned AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 1-year parts warranty and a 3-year warranty on the drivetrain. Used AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 1-year parts-only warranty. We are so confident of the quality of these stair lifts that we provide the best warranties in the industry!
The track on an AmeriGlide stair lift takes up 11.5 inches of your staircase. When folded up, the stair lift uses 14 inches of space, except on HD units which have seats that don't fold. If your staircase is less than 36 inches wide, it is recommended that you sit the user in a chair that is up against a wall, and measure the distance from the wall to the user's knees. Most AmeriGlide stair lifts have a lifting capacity of 300 lbs. Some Heavy-Duty Stair Lifts have a 500 lb. weight capacity. Each stair lift is designed for use by one person at a time.
The AmeriGlide stair lift needs very little maintenance - just a light greasing of the track every 6 months will keep it running smoothly.
AmeriGlide stair lifts comply with standards and codes established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Intertek (ETL), and the Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

Cancellations (Before Order Ships)

Cancellations of Custom Orders
In the event, you have made a custom or made-to-order product cannot be canceled or refunded as these products are put into production specifically for your order.
These units, are custom-made to your specification or created once you order. Once you place your order they start building your unit. Your warranty will guarantee you a fully functional and operational product. If it is not clear whether your order is custom or made to order, please message or call us.
All sales are final for Custom made and Made-to-order products.
Refunds and Returns
If you need to exchange your product, you may do so. You, as the customer, are responsible for any shipping costs throughout any returns and exchange processes.
Not all orders are available for return once they have shipped. We order our products directly from the manufacturer. Therefore, if the manufacturer will not permit us to return a product, we cannot offer you a return. This often varies on a case-by-case basis; please reach out to us if you would like specific information on your brand and/or product.
Due to drastically increasing LTL/freight shipping costs, any outright returns will incur 25% cancellation fee + return shipping costs. If you are replacing the product with something else, we may be able to help you cover some of the costs depending on the product.
Shipping Times
We promise to do our best to get your order to you as soon as possible. We provide estimated shipping times on the product pages based upon what our suppliers and freight companies tell us, and those estimated shipping times may change or vary without notice (Due to supply chain issues, the steel mills behind on making metal, the manufacturers delayed because of the mills, the overwhelming demand on shipping, factory/warehouse and dock workers and so on).
Order delays have proven to be unavoidable and outside of Home Power Direct's control. While this might be frustrating, we ask you to please be patient and understanding with us in these tough times. We thank you for your business and appreciate your patience.
Warranty
Warranties vary depending upon the manufacturer - see individual product pages for details. Warranty damages occur over time and from use. If an item was damaged upon arrival, and not reported within 30 days, that is not a warranty claim.

Our team of agents are here to assist you and resolve any issues. We have purposefully made our policies as fair as possible, and we believe they are the top in the industry. We are on your team. My mother-in-law loves the stairlift. She kept saying, "No, I don't need one yet", but her knees are bad and we knew we would get one eventually. She loves it! It arrived quickly and is really rather simple to install. We had a slight issue because of a door at the top of the stairs, but without the door it would have been really quick and easy. Even with the door it wasn't bad. Love the lift and the service.
The process went very smoothly from inquiry to installation. Another big star lift company would not make the installation, but Ameriglide did a perfect installation.
